Formwork tie rod performs as the most important member in tie rod system, fastening formwork panels. Usually used together with wing nut, waler plate, water stop, etc. Also it is enbeded in concrete used as lost part.

Tie rods are often used in steel structures, such as bridges, industrial buildings, tanks, towers, and cranes. In ships, tie rods are bolts which keep the whole engine structure under compression. They provide for fatigue strength. They also provide for proper running gear alignment which prevents fretting.

Concrete formwork tie rod can be in cold rolled and hot rolled.

Cold rolled tie rod is in steel grade S235 and S450.

Hot rolled tie rod is also called rebar in steel grade ST500 -1100. Hot rolled rebar popular steel grade is in ST 830, ST 930 ST1100 in concrete construction.

Formwork tie rod are used together with formwork tie nuts include anchor flange nut, wing nut with base plate, water stopper barriers, wedge clamp, Hex Nut, dome nut etc. Inner thread of the tie nuts must be matched up with the tie rod size thread screw.

The formwork tie rod size can be in D12-D50mm. The most popular size of tie rod no matter cold rolled or hot rolled, is in D15, D16, D17, D20, D22mm for construction slab, wall and beams

Formwork tie rod length is always in customized from 1m to 12mtr.
